Philip Joseph Williamson

I was born and raised in a small village in the UK, where I attended the local schools. After finishing my education I entered into the world of work and at the same time began to follow a short lived career in music, writing and performing with my own group. However I soon realised that I had higher aspirations and returned to college and then university.

After finishing at Bristol University, where I studied History of Art and Italian language, I went on to gain my CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification from International House in London.

I began working as a teacher in 1999, teaching at an international summer camp in the UK, before moving to Granada, Spain, where I was employed by various academies. I worked hard and eventually became a freelance teacher. It was at this time that I began working for the Spanish Army at there centre of training and administration.

Over the following years I continued to progress in my career and moved to Valladolid. I began to work as a teacher trainer in various state schools, while also successfully designing and delivering the English module of a Master’s Degree in Business Tourism Management for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

I then moved to Barcelona and began specialising in providing English classes in the offices of various prestigious companies, such as Audi/Volkswagen, Media Markt and La Caixa Bank. During this time I also ran a course as part of a government sponsored initiative to raise levels of English in the workplace.

After this period, I started once more to work on a self-employed basis. This allowed me to work from home and raise my children at the same time. Eventually the responsibility of caring for my children meant that I had to put my career on hold for while.

I began teaching again in 2021, working once more for an academy in Granada and spending my summers working at Summer camps back in the UK. I have now moved back to the UK permanently where I have started my own business, PJW English, providing online English classes to students from around Europe and beyond.
